How do I add another project option for my existing customer?

There are a few ways to create a new project option for an existing customer:

  • Option 1
From the projects tab in the menu, click 'Add new project', then select the customer in the 'Recent Customers' pane. This option is available wherever you are on PVsell and allows you to create a fresh new project, use a project template, or duplicate an existing project.
  • Option 2
From the list of Customers, click the 'sun' icon beside the Customer's name. This option is available on the dashboard or the Customers page and allows you to create a fresh new project, use a project template, or duplicate an existing project.

For both of the above options, you will then need to identify the starting point for your project.

1. Open the 'New Project' creating window

1.1. Option 1 - Click 'Add new project' in the menu

1.1.2. Then identify the Customer you wish to add another project option for

In the 'New Project' window, select the 'RECENT CUSTOMER' tab. Then select the customer you want to create a project variation for.

You can quickly find the customer you want to create another project option for in your list of recent customers (the 'Select recent customer' pane).

If your customer isn't showing up in this pane, type part of your customer's name into the 'Search for Customer' field and press enter.

Alternatively, you can do this from the 'Recent Customers' list on the Dashboard.

You can also open the list of recent customers on the dashboard:

  1. Click 'Dashboard' in the main menu,
  2. Then click on the 'Recent Customers' tab.

2. Then select the starting point for your new project, and press 'Go'

A project can have as its starting point:

2.1. A Fresh Project

This option creates a new, fresh, blank project. You'll fill everything in from scratch. In this case, enter the title of your new project, then press 'Go'.

2.2. A Project Template

You can use a project template as a starting point for this new project. This is useful if you wish to pre-populate a project with your favourite values.

In this case, select the template from your list of templates. If the template you want to use isn't showing up in this pane, type part of your template's name into the search field and press enter, then select the template from the list of search results.

(Then press 'Go').

2.3. A Recent Project

You can use a recent project as the starting point for your new project. This effectively creates a duplicate of your selected project and assigns it to the customer you selected earlier. This is a useful way to create another 'option' for your customer, whether a different size, quality, or finance method.

In this case, select the recent project from the list. If the project you want to use isn't showing up in this pane, type part of your project's name into the search field and press enter, then select the project from the list of search results.

(Then press 'Go').

This saves you re-entering the customer's billing information and consumption profile.
