How do I duplicate an existing project?

When you want to save time creating another project option for your customer, the quickest way is to duplicate an existing project. That way, you won't need to re-enter the bill and consumption profile information.

There are two ways to duplicate an existing project:

  • Option 1
In the project list, select the project, then click 'Duplicate'.
  • Option 2
Click 'Add new project' under the Projects tab in the main menu. This option is available from any page. Alternatively, you can access the same screen and method by clicking the '+New project' button on the dashboard or project list. You will need to select the existing customer and project you wish to duplicate.

You will probably want to rename the project (while you remember) before making changes to your duplicated project. (How can I edit the project title?)

1. Option 1: In the projects list, select the project, then click 'Duplicate'

1.1. From the menu, open 'All projects'

  1. Click 'Projects' in the upper menu,
  2. then click 'All Projects'.

Alternative 2b: Click the 'New Project' button on the dashboard

You can see the corresponding button in the 'PVSALES' pane, as well as the same button accompanied by the '+New From Template' button in the 'Recent Projects' pane.

Alternative 2d: Click on the project icon (the sun) beside a customer's name on the Customer List

If you use this option, you will skip the next step (customer identification) as you have already identified the customer the project is for.

You can also do this from the 'Recent Customers' list on the Dashboard.

To open the list of recent customers on the dashboard:

  1. Click 'Dashboard' in the main menu,
  2. then click on the 'Recent Customers' tab.

2.2. Then identify the project's Customer and select the starting point for your project.

First Identify the existing Customer associated with the project to be duplicated.

This can be done by selecting a customer from your list of recent customers.

More on how to select an existing Customer

In the 'New Project' window, select the 'RECENT CUSTOMER' tab. Then select the customer you want to duplicate a project for.

You can quickly find the customer you want to duplicate a project for in your list of recent customers (the 'Select recent customer' pane).

If your customer isn't showing up in this pane, type part of your customer's name into the 'Search for Customer' field and press enter.

What if I can't see the project I want to duplicate?

If the project you want to use isn't showing up in the 'Select recent project' pane, try searching in the search field first – type part of your project's name into the 'Search for Project' field and press enter, then select the project from the list of search results.

If that doesn't work, then use Option 1.
