PVsell allows you to upload metering data, which you can re-use later.
If there's real life information at your disposal, see how you can upload your customer's metering data. This provides the most accurate assessment possible when you have interval metering data for a particular customer for an entire year.
Processing Excel spreadsheets takes much longer than CSV files. Please be patient when dealing with Excel files.
Your meter data file must fulfill the following criteria:
- It must be either a CSV file or an Excel file.
- Please note! Data will be taken from the first sheet if an Excel file is uploaded.
- The uploaded meter file must contain
one "DateTime" column, OR two separate date and time columns (one Date AND one Time column)
which have at least an hourly breakdown of consumption by kW or kWh (one kW OR one kWh column).
- The file may include finer granularity (e.g. 30 or 15 minute increments) and PVsell will automatically aggregate your data into hourly blocks.
Dates will automatically be converted, however if they are being converted incorrectly, you'll need to specify the format in the consumption profile editing window. You must specify both date and time formats if you want to use this feature. Learn more: How do I format the date and time?
Dates from Excel spreadsheets may appear as numbers, this is due to the way Excel stores data. It is nothing to worry about, you will see the converted dates after you have defined your columns and saved.

So if you don't have the precise real life data for a particular customer, there's nothing to worry about. You can re-use consumption profiles from a similar customer, rather than waiting weeks for metering data, and avoid the customer growing cold in the mean time.
